  • 1 lb. butter (not margarine)
  • 6 eggs, beaten separately (add whites last)
  • 2 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 lb. pecans
  • 1 lb. dates
  • 1 lb. raisins
  • 1 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 c. plain flour

    Cream butter and sugar.

    Add egg yolks and vanilla.

    Add dry ingredients and then egg whites.

    Batter will be real stiff.* Bake in 275° to 300° oven in tube pan for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.

    Let cool 20 to 25 minutes in pan.
