Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. butter
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 6 whole eggs, separated
  • 2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2 c. flour (1/2 c. on fruit)
  • 1 lb. raisins
  • 1/2 lb. candied cherries
  • 1/2 lb. candied pineapple
  • 1 1/2 c. shelled pecans
  • 1/2 c. wine (optional)
  • 2 tsp. vanilla flavoring

Directions

    Cream butter and sugar; add well beaten egg yolks.

    Cut fruit in chunks and roll in 1/2 cup of flour.

    Add the flour to sugar and egg yolks and mix well.

    Add all other ingredients and mix well. Beat egg whites stiff and add to mix last.

    Bake in 275° oven for about 3 hours.
