- 1 stick butter or margarine
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 c. plain flour (not sifted)
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. broken pecans
Directions

1Soften butter.

2Beat in sugar, egg, soda, cream of tartar and flour.

3Add nuts.

4Mix by hand.

5Divide in two parts.

6Roll in wax paper and freeze.

7Cut thin slices and bake 10 minutes at 350°. Remove from pan right away.
