- 1 1/2 c. maple syrup
- 1/2 stick oleo or butter
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 c. pecan halves or chopped pecans
- 1 unbaked pie crust
- 3 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- dash of salt
Directions

1Heat oven to 375°.

2Cook syrup, oleo and sugar in a 2-quart saucepan to boiling.

3Boil gently uncovered 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

4Cool.

5Place pecans in pie crust.

6Mix eggs, vanilla and salt in a large bowl.

7Gradually stir in cooled syrup mixture.

8Pour over pecans.

9Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.

10Serve with whipped cream, if desired.
