  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. white Karo
  • 3 whole eggs
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/2 stick margarine
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped pecans
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 deep-dish pie crust

    Mix sugar, syrup, margarine and salt.

    Bring to boil.

    Pour syrup mixture over well beaten eggs.

    Let cool; add pecans and vanilla.

    Pour into the unbaked pie shell.

    Bake at 400° for 10 minutes; then reduce heat to 350° for 35 to 40 minutes.
