- 1 (2 layer) cake mix
- 1/4 c. margarine, softened
- 1 egg, beaten
- 3 eggs
- 1 c. light Karo syrup
- 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped pecans
Directions

1Set aside 2/3 cup of yellow cake mix.

2Combine remaining cake mix, margarine and beaten egg.

3Stir by hand until mixture is crumbly.

4Press the mixture evenly over the bottom and pinch up sides of an ungreased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.

5Bake at 350° for 15 minutes.
