- 1 1/2 cups vegetable shortening
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 2 eggs
- 4 cups flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons water
- 1 cup chopped pecans, chopped fine
Directions

1Pre-heat oven to 325.

2In a large bowl cream shortening, sugar and salt.

3Add the eggs and beat well.

4Slowly add the flour, baking soda and water.

5Add pecans to the dough and knead with your hands until pecans are well blended.

6Roll the dough into 1 inch balls and place on cookie sheet.

7Press down with a drinking glass.

8Cookies should be about 2 inches round, 1/2 inch thick.

9Bake for 25 minutes or until the edges are golden brown-watch the bottoms.
