- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 4 Tbsp. sifted cake flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. pecans, finely chopped
Directions

1Cream shortening.

2Add sugar gradually and beat until light. Add eggs; blend well.

3Add vanilla.

4Add flour and salt; mix thoroughly.

5Add nuts and mix.

6Drop by scant teaspoonful 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet and with back of spoon, press thin as possible.

7Bake at 352° for 10 to 12 minutes.

8Roll at once over handle of spoon as they harden rapidly.

9Will make 3 dozen.
