Pecan Squash Casserole

  • 1 lb. yellow squash
  • onion
  • 1/2 stick margarine
  • 1/2 c. mayonnaise
  • 1 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 1/2 c. grated sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 c. chopped pecans
  • 1/2 c. crackers

    Preheat oven to 375°.

    Melt butter in casserole first.

    Steam squash with onion until tender.

    Drain and mash thoroughly.

    Add other ingredients to mashed squash, then put in casserole on top of butter.
