- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 1/2 tsp. coarse pepper
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Cut together flour, baking powder and shortening.

2Mix pepper, salt and butter; then add to first mixture.

3Flour hands.

4Roll in hands to form biscuits.

5Pat tops slightly to flatten.

6Put on greased tray.

7Bake on 2nd rack at 450° or 500° for 8 to 10 minutes, until tops are browned.
