- 1 1/2 lb. round steak (1/2-inch thick)
- 1 c. sliced onion
- 1 c. beef broth
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. ginger
- 2 green peppers, cut in strips
- 1 c. sliced mushrooms
- 1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
- 3 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 c. water
Directions

1Cut round steak into thin strips and brown in Dutch oven in small amount of oil and margarine.

2Add beef broth, onion, celery, salt, garlic and ginger; simmer, covered, for 35 to 40 minutes, or until tender.

3Add green peppers, mushrooms and tomatoes; cook an additional 10 minutes.

4Mix soy sauce and cornstarch in 1 cup water until smooth.

5Slowly stir into sauce and cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.

6Serve over rice.
