- 2 lb round or chuck steak, 1 inch thick, cut into serving pieces
- 1 envelope Lipton onion soup mix
- 1 - 16 oz. can tomatoes, cut up
- 1 tsp. oregano
- pepper and garlic powder to taste
- 2 Tbsp. wine
- 1 to 2 green peppers, sliced into wide strips
Directions

1In a skillet arrange meat.

2Cover with soup mix and tomatoes with the juice.

3Sprinkle with oregano, garlic powder, pepper and wine.

4Simmer covered 1 1/2 hour or until meat is tender.

5Thicken juices with cornstarch for gravy.

6Green pepper slices may be added halfway through cooking for a firmer texture.
