Ingredients

  • 1 lb. round steak; cut into small strips
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 4 or 5 med. green peppers, cut in strips
  • 3 or 4 med. onions, sliced
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 1 tsp. cornstarch
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 tsp. soy sauce

    Roll steak strips in flour, salt, and pepper.

    Sear in lard over medium heat.

    Keep stirring so it doesn't burn.

    When slightly browned, add bouillon cubes dissolved in boiling water. Cook over low heat until meat is tender, about 10 - 15 min.

    Add peppers and onions to the meat; cook until vegetables are tender. You may need to add a small amount of water at this time, but not too much.

    Add cornstarch mixed in water and soy sauce.

    Cook for 5 - 10 min. until thick.

    Serve over rice.
