Ingredients
- 1 lb. beef chuck or round steak, cut in thin strips
- 1/4 c. cooking oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. water
- 1 c. green pepper, cut in 1-inch strips
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 1/2 c. chopped celery
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch plus 1 c. water
- 2 tomatoes or 1 large can tomatoes
Directions

1Brown meat in hot oil.

2Add garlic and cook until yellow.

3Add soy sauce, salt and 1/4 cup water.

4Cook for 45 minutes.

5Add vegetables.

6Cook 10 minutes.

7Stir in cornstarch mixed with 1 cup water.

8Add tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes.

9Serve over rice. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
