- 1 1/2 lb. round steak (1/2-inch thick)
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 c. beef broth
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
- 1/2 tsp. garlic
- 2 green peppers, cut in strips
- 1 c. sliced mushrooms
- 1 1/2 c. tomatoes, chopped
- 3 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 c. water
Directions

1Cut steak into thin strips and brown in a small amount of oil. Add broth, onion, celery and garlic.

2Simmer, covered, for 40 minutes. Add peppers, mushrooms and tomatoes.

3Cook 10 more minutes.

4Mix soy sauce and cornstarch in 1 cup of water until smooth. Slowly stir this into the meat mixture, stirring constantly, until thickened. Serve over rice.
