Peppermint Pound Cake

- 3 sticks butter
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 6 eggs
- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 6 small sticks peppermint candy, crushed into powder
Directions

1Cream butter and sugar.

2Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.

3Add flour and baking powder alternately with milk; beat well after each addition.

4Add vanilla; beat.

5Pour 1/3 of batter and crushed candy in separate bowl; stir well.

6Pour 1/2 of remaining batter into well-greased and floured tube pan.

7Add peppermint batter, then add remaining batter on top of peppermint batter.

8Bake at 300° for 1 1/2 hours, or as your oven cooks. Turn out onto wire rack to cool.

9A chocolate frosting on cake goes great with taste of peppermint.
