- 1/4 c. sugar
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1 c. yellow cornmeal
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. milk
- 1/4 c. soft shortening
Directions

1Sift flour.

2Stir into sugar, baking powder and salt.

3Add cornmeal and stir.

4Add eggs, milk and shortening.

5Beat with electric beater until smooth.

6Pour into greased 9 x 9-inch pan. Bake at 425° for 20 to 25 minutes.
