  • 5 egg yolks
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. white Karo syrup
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 c. broken pecan pieces
  • 5 egg whites, well beaten

Directions

    Cream butter, sugar and egg yolks. Add syrup, vanilla and pecans.

    Stir well. Fold in egg whites. Pour into unbaked large pie shell; in Pyrex works well. Bake at 325° for 1 hour.

    Test for doneness with toothpick in center; toothpick clean, pie done.
