- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 34 cup vegetable shortening
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- 1 teaspoon vinegar
- 3 tablespoons cold water
Directions

1Combine flour, sugar, and salt in bowl.

2Cut shortening into flour until shortening resembles size of large peas.

3Combine egg and vinegar in small bowl; stir into flour mixture, mixing slightly.

4Add water, 1 Tablespoon at a time, mixing just until dough is moist enough to form a ball.

5Shape dough into 2 balls.

6Flatten 1 ball to 1/2 inch thickness, rounding and smoothing edges.

7Roll dough into 11 inch circle; place in pie plate.

8Trim; Crimp or flute edges.

9For baked pie shell: Prick bottom and sides of pastry generously with fork.

10Bake at 450F for 9-12 minutes or until light golden brown; cool.
