Ingredients
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. persimmon pulp
- 1 c. raisins (can use chopped dates or prunes)
- 1 c. chopped walnuts or chopped pecans
Directions

1With electric mixer, cream shortening.

2Add sugar and egg and beat well.

3In separate bowl, mix together flour, spices, salt and baking soda.

4Stir flour mixture into creamed shortening mixture.

5Mix in persimmon pulp, raisins and nuts. Drop by spoonfuls, 2-inches apart, onto lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes.

6Makes 3 dozen cookies.
