  • 4 ounces fresh basil
  • 13 cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • 14 cup pine nuts
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 12 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 dash pepper
  • 1 dash nutmeg (optional)
  • 12 cup extra virgin olive oil

Directions

    Tear Basil leaves off stems, rinse, dry and set aside.

    toast pine nuts in a frying pan over medium heat, moving constantly to keep from burning.

    Toast them until they become fragrant and slightly browned.

    Put pine nuts in a food processor.

    Add Parmesan and garlic clove.

    Blend until all ingredients are combined.

    Add Salt, pepper and nutmeg (optional).

    With machine turned back on, slowly add Basil.

    Turn off food processor and stir mixture, blend for a few more seconds.

    With the machine turned on again, slowly drizzle in Olive Oil.
