  • 1.5 cups loosely packed fresh basil leaves
  • 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup pine nuts or walnuts
  • 1.5 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated pecorino-romano

Directions

    Put the basil, olive oil, pine nuts, garlic, salt, and pepper in a blender or food processor and process until smooth. Pour the mixture into a small bowl and stir in the Pecorino. Check the seasonings to taste.
