  • 4 1/2 lbs. ripe tomatoes, scalded, peeled, and chopped
  • 3 mild green chilies, chopped
  • 1 large Spanish onion chopped
  • 1 med. green pepper chopped
  • 1 med. red pepper chopped
  • 3-6 canned whole jal. peppers, chopped
  • 5 1/2 oz. tomato paste
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon coarse pickling salt
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Directions

    Combine all ingredients in a large pot. Bring to boil; cut down to medium. Cook for 70 min. Stir occasionally, until thicker. Makes 5 pints.
