Ingredients

  • 2 lb mixed berries in any combination you like, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, strawberries etc fresh or thawed frozen
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 FOR TOPPING
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 2/3 cup quick cooking rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 dash so about 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup mini semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 4 tbsp cold butter cut into small cubes

    Preheat oven to 375

    In a large bowl gently but thoroughly combine your mixture of berries with cornstarch, granulated sugar and cinnamon.

    Pour into a buttered 2 quart baking dish or 6 individual 10 to 12 ounce ramekins

    Combine all topping ingredients in same bowl and with a pastry cutter; fork or fingers mix to a very coarse crumble mixture

    Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the berries.

    Bake on a cookie sheet for about 40 minutes or until bubbly.If you use the ramekin the time will be a bit shorter

    Serve hot with whipped cream or ice cream....or both!

    Garnish with fresh berries.
