- 4 qt. green or yellow beans
- 6 c. vinegar
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 1 stick cinnamon
- 1 Tbsp. whole cloves
Directions

1Cook beans in boiling salted water until tender.

2Use 1 teaspoon salt to each quart of water.

3Drain and pack in hot syrup.

4Combine remaining ingredients.

5Heat to boiling.

6Pour over beans and seal.

7Makes 8 quarts.

8Cut the ends off the beans and leave beans uncut.
