Ingredients
- 2 (16 oz.) cans small whole beets
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. ground allspice
- 1 stick cinnamon
- 1 c. vinegar
- 1/2 c. liquid (drained from beets)
- 3/4 tsp. salt
Directions

1Drain beets, reserving 1/2 cup of the liquid.

2Combine all ingredients except beets.

3Bring to boil, stirring to dissolve sugar.

4Lower heat and simmer for 15 minutes.

5Remove cinnamon stick and add beets.

6Let cool some and put in airtight container, jar with lid.

7Store in refrigerator, mixing occasionally, for 1 week.

8Serve cold.
