Ingredients
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. cloves
- 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2/3 c. vinegar
- 1/2 c. water or beet liquid
- 4 c. beets, cooked and sliced or 2 (16 oz.) cans sliced beets, drained
Directions

1Combine first 4 ingredients well in saucepan; stir in vinegar and water.

2Bring to boil, stirring.

3Add beets.

4Return to boil; reduce heat.

5Cover; simmer 5 minutes.

6Cool.
-
7Chill liquid 8 hours before serving.

8Cover, store in liquid, chilled, up to one month. Drain before serving.
