Ingredients

  • 2 cups vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons mustard
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon celery seed
  • 1 tablespoon mustard seed
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 12 hard-boiled eggs
  • 2 onions, sliced

Directions

    Blend vinegar slowly into mustard in saucepan.

    Add water, sugar, salt, celery seed, mustard seed and whole cloves.

    Simmer for 10 minutes: cool.

    Pour over eggs and onions.

    Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.

    Marinade may be used for a second dozen eggs: it is also a good salad dressing.
