Ingredients

  • 1 kg Hake
  • 500 ml Vinegar
  • 3 Onions
  • 10 ml Mixed Pickling Spice
  • 15 ml Maizena
  • 1 ml Curry Powder
  • 3 ml Cayenne Pepper
  • 375 ml Water (250ml & 125ml)
  • 10 ml Turmeric
  • 15 ml Sugar

Directions

    Fry hake in batter until golden

    Boil sliced onions in vinegar, 250ml water & 10ml pickling spice for 5min
  3. 3
    Add the remaining dry ingredients with another 125ml water and simmer for 3 minutes
  4. 4
    Pour mixture over fish & allow to stand for 2-3 days
