Pickled Muskmelon

Ingredients

  • 1 melon, peeled and sliced (ripe)
  • 1 quart vinegar
  • 1 quart sugar
  • clove, to taste
  • cinnamon bark, to taste

Directions

    Boil vinegar and sugar together for five or ten minutes.

    Drop in the sliced muskmelon and boil until tender.
  3. 3
    Last of all, drop in whole cloves and cinnamon bark. Let all boil a few minutes longer, then put in jars and seal, and you have as nice a pickle as peaches.
