Ingredients

  • 1/2 gallons Water
  • 1 Tablespoon Salt
  • 4 Tablespoons Pickling Spice
  • 1/2 whole Onion, Halved
  • 1/2 whole Carrot, Chopped
  • 1 stalk Celery, Chopped
  • 1/2 whole Lemon
  • 2 pounds Fresh, Raw Shrimp, Shells On
  • Cocktail Sauce, For Serving

Directions

    Put all ingredients except the shrimp (water through lemon) into a large pot and bring to a boil.

    Boil for two minutes, then add shrimp and boil for an additional two minutes.

    Immediately pour shrimp into an ice water bath.

    Drain and peel shrimp (except for tails) and serve with cocktail sauce.
