  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 3/4 c. Crisco
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • apples, diced
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3/4 tsp. baking powder
  • salt
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • cinnamon

Directions

    Mix as for pie crust.

    Roll out 1/2 to 1-inch thick.

    Spread diced apples over.

    Sprinkle cinnamon and roll like jelly roll. Cut in 1-inch slices.

    Arrange in baking dish which has syrup of sugar and water (dissolve about 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water). Bake 1/2 hour.

    Turn off oven and leave until apples are cooked at 350° or 375° (whichever, you know your oven).
