  • 8 cups (1900 ml) sifted flour
  • 4 tsp (20 ml) salt
  • 2 cups (475 ml) shortening

Directions

    Cut shortening into sifted flour and salt.

    Store in covered container on pantry self or refrigerator.

    Use 2 cups (475 ml) per pastry, adding approximately 7 tbsp (100 ml) water for two crust pie.

    To 2 cups (475 ml) pastry base, cut in 1/2 cup (125 ml) grated cheese.

    Then follow plain pastry recipe.

    To 2 cups (475 ml) plain pastry base, substitute orange juice for the water to be added.
