Ingredients
- 8 slice bacon, halved (I use hickory smoked)
- 1 cup brown sugar (I use dark)
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (more if you like spicy!)
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350

2In medium bowl (with lid), combine sugar and pepper

3Add bacon.

4Cover & shake.

5Bacon needs to have an even thick layer (should not be able to see bacon through sugar mixture)

6Place bacon on a cooling rack over a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil (for minimum cleanup)

7Place on top rack of oven and bake for 10 minutes

8Remove bacon.

9Flip.
-
10Add remaining sugar mixture to top of bacon

11Bake for additional 5-7 minutes (until bacon appears cooked but sugar not burned)

12Let bacon cool on rack for 15 minutes.

13Serve whole strips or chop up to candy size and serve in dish
