Pineapple Bbq Sauce

Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 cups ketchup
  • 6 teaspoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons cumin
  • 14 ounces juice can pineapple chunks -, drained and set aside should equal just under 1 cup
  • red wine added into the Pineapple juice until equals 1 cup
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup vinegar
  • 4 tablespoons mustard
  • 3 teaspoons worchestershire
  • 1/2 cup onions finely chopped
  • 3 teaspoons garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons grape seed oil
  • 1 cinnamon stick

Directions

    Heat oil in a large stock pot over med heat, saute onions until translucent.

    Add chili powder, cumin and garlic in pot and cook for 1 min.

    ***DO NOT ALLOW ONIONS TO BROWN OR THE TEXTURE OF THIS SAUCE WILL BE OFF***

    Finely chop or toss pineapples into a blender and pulse a few times

    Stir in pineapple along with everything else and simmer for 45 mins - 1 hour stirring occasionally to prevent burning
