Pineapple Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 (No. 2) can crushed pineapple with juice
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 3/4 c. Pet milk
  • 6 Tbsp. oleo
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Mix together first three ingredients (1 1/2 cups sugar, eggs and pineapple).

    Add flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Mix well.

    Pour into greased 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Sprinkle nuts and brown sugar on top of cake batter.

    Bake for 35 minutes at 350°. Mix remaining 4 ingredients (Pet milk, oleo, 1/2 cup sugar and vanilla) in a saucepan and bring to a boil.

    Pour over hot baked cake.
