- 3 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. light corn syrup
- 1/2 c. drained crushed pineapple
- 1/2 c. heavy cream
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. walnuts, chopped
Directions

1Combine sugar, syrup, pineapple and cream in well-buttered heavy saucepan.

2Bring to a boil over low heat, stirring constantly.

3Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until candy reaches soft ball stage (236°).

4Remove from heat; add butter.

5Do not stir.

6Cool until saucepan feels lukewarm.

7Add vanilla.

8Heat until candy begins to thicken.

9Beat in nuts.
-
10Pour into buttered 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.

11As candy firms, it will lose slick look and become creamy.

12Cool and cut.

13Makes about 3 dozen pieces.
