Ingredients

  • 3 lb. pinkito beans
  • 2 small ham hocks
  • 2 medium onions
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 cans tomato sauce
  • 3 Tbsp. Gebhart's chili powder
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

    Wash beans thoroughly and soak overnight.

    While beans and ham hocks are boiling, chop onion and garlic (not too fine).

    Brown in skillet with vegetable oil, then add chili powder and tomato sauce.

    Let simmer 15 to 20 minutes.

    When beans are half done, add sauce and salt and pepper.

    Continue to boil until done.

    Cook approximately 3 hours.
  8. 8
    Will feed approximately 20 people.
