- 1 c. butter or margarine, room temperature
- 2 1/4 c. powdered sugar
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. flour
- 1 c. pine nuts or walnuts, chopped
Directions

1Cream together butter, 1/4 cup sugar and vanilla.

2Stir in flour and nuts until well mixed.

3Pinch dough into 2 tablespoon portions.

4On a lightly floured board, roll each portion into a rope about 1/2-inch thick.

5Cut rope into 2-inch pieces.

6Place pieces side by side, about 1 inch apart on an ungreased 10 x 15-inch baking pan.

7Bake at 275° for 25 to 30 minutes, or until edges are tinged light brown.

8Switch pan position halfway through baking.

9While cookies are warm, sift rest of powdered sugar over them.

10Cool.

11Makes 5 to 6 dozen.
