  • 1 c. butter or margarine, room temperature
  • 2 1/4 c. powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 c. pine nuts or walnuts, chopped

Directions

    Cream together butter, 1/4 cup sugar and vanilla.

    Stir in flour and nuts until well mixed.

    Pinch dough into 2 tablespoon portions.

    On a lightly floured board, roll each portion into a rope about 1/2-inch thick.

    Cut rope into 2-inch pieces.

    Place pieces side by side, about 1 inch apart on an ungreased 10 x 15-inch baking pan.

    Bake at 275° for 25 to 30 minutes, or until edges are tinged light brown.

    Switch pan position halfway through baking.

    While cookies are warm, sift rest of powdered sugar over them.
