Pinon Nut Candy

  • 1 c. pinon nuts, shelled
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 stick butter or margarine
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar

Directions

    Mix sugar, water, margarine and vinegar in a saucepan.

    Bring to a boil and heat until the temperature is between 234° and 240° on a candy thermometer.

    Cool and beat in the nuts.

    Drop by spoonfuls onto a buttered pan or oiled paper.

    Allow to set.
