  • 1 cup basmati rice Uncooked Or Brown Rice - Note 1
  • 1 teaspoon sunflower oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seed
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seed
  • 3 1/2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper

Directions

    In a med saucepan heat oil and add mustard and cumin seeds.

    When the mustard seeds pop, add water, rice and salt.

    Bring to a boil.

    Cover and reduce heat to low.

    Cook for 15 in for basmati, 35 - 40 min for brown rice.

    Add black pepper; mix well and serve.
