- 1 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/4 c. cold water (about)
Directions

1Blend flour and salt in a mixing bowl.

2Cut fat into dry ingredients with pastry blender or fork.

3Sprinkle water evenly over dry mixture, toss and blend until all portions are evenly dampened.

4Press mixture into a ball.

5Place ball of dough on lightly floured wax paper.

6Pat dough ball flat and then roll from center outward with floured rolling pin.

7Carefully lift rolled dough on the wax paper and turn over into 8-inch or 9-inch pie pan.

8Be careful to not stretch pastry.

9Prick bottom with fork. Bake 12 to 15 minutes at 450°.
