  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. sweet butter
  • 1 c. flour, sifted
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 24 halves pitted purple plums
  • topping (sugar, lemon juice and cinnamon)

Directions

    Cream sugar and butter. Add flour, baking powder, salt and eggs.

    Spoon batter into 9-inch spring-form pan.

    Place plum halves, skin side up, on top of batter.

    Sprinkle lightly with sugar and lemon juice. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake at 350° for 1 hour. Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
