  • 1 Egg
  • 1 drop of white wine vinegar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 pinch Pepper

    Check your egg is fresh by dropping it in a bowl of water.

    If it floats it is not fresh and will not be great fro poaching
  3. 3
    Break your egg into a bowl

    Add a drop of white wine vinegar to a saucepan of water and bring to a boil then turn down the heat so that the water is just below a simmer
  5. 5
    Pour the egg into the water in one quick motion
  6. 6
    Cook for 3-4 minutes, checking it after about 2 1/2 minutes
  7. 7
    Remove the egg from the saucepan and dry slightly on kitchen paper
  8. 8
    Season with salt and pepper
