- 1 c. boiling water
- 1/2 cake yeast, dissolved in 1/2 cup lukewarm water
- 3 1/2 c. flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 egg, well beaten
Directions

1Add butter, salt and sugar to boiling water.

2Cool. Then add dissolved yeast cake.

3Add sifted flour and set aside in a warm place to rise.

4When double in bulk, add well beaten egg.

5Knead lightly.

6Roll out 1/2-inch thick on well floured board.

7Cut with biscuit cutter, 3-inches around.

8Crease with dull knife.

9Brush with melted butter and fold over, pinching the dough on sides to make a pocket book. Brush tops with butter.

10Let rise and bake on a cookie sheet in 390° oven about 20 minutes.
