Pomodoro Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 cans whole, peeled tomatoes
  • 1 to 10 cloves garlic
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp. capers
  • 1 handful fresh basil leaves
  • olive oil
  • salt and pepper

Directions

    Saute onion and garlic in olive oil in a large pan.

    When done, add whole tomatoes from can (retain juice until later). Cook tomatoes until soft.

    Add capers, salt and pepper to taste, basil and the remaining juice.

    Cover and simmer about 1/2 hour.
