Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. popcorn, popped
  • 1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. light corn syrup or Mrs. Butterworth's syrup
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 1/4 c. butter (or substitute)
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. salt

Directions

    Pop corn and put in a large metal pan or bowl.

    Place in 200° oven to keep warm.

    Mix sugars, syrup and water together in saucepan; bring to a boil and add salt.

    Continue to boil until temperature reaches 300°.

    Add butter and mix well.

    Take off heat and add baking soda which has been mixed with vanilla.

    Stir well.

    Pour mixture over warm popcorn and mix together.

    Pour out on waxed paper.

    Spread thin while still hot.

    Cool, then break into pieces.
