- 5 qt. popped popcorn
- 2 c. brown sugar
- 2 sticks butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. white corn syrup
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 c. pecans (optional)
Directions

1In a large, heavy saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter and corn syrup.

2Bring to a boil; boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.

3Remove from heat.

4Add baking soda, vanilla and salt; mix well.

5Mixture will foam up.

6Pour over popcorn and nuts, which have been put in 2 baking pans.

7Stir well to coat.

8Place in a 250° oven for 40 minutes.

9Stir every 15 minutes.

10Keep in airtight container.
