- 6 pork chops or steaks
- salt and pepper
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 2 (16 oz.) cans stewed tomatoes
- 1 c. uncooked rice
- 2 Tbsp. butter
Directions

1Sprinkle meat with salt and pepper.

2Brown meat in hot shortening.

4Preheat oven to 350°.

5In a 1 1/2-quart greased baking dish, combine tomatoes with liquid, rice, butter and 1 teaspoon salt.

6Arrange meat over rice.

7Bake for 1 hour or until meat is tender.
