  • 4 lb. beef
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 envelope dried onion soup (Lipton's)
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped or pressed
  • 2 c. red wine
  • 2 c. water
  • 1 large bay leaf, crushed
  • 1 tsp. thyme
  • 1 tsp. basil

Directions

    Place piece of beef in pot; add mushroom soup, envelope of dried onion soup, chopped onion, chopped or pressed garlic, 2 cups red wine and 2 cups of water.

    Add the crushed bay leaf, thyme and basil.

    Cover and bake in 350° oven until tender (about 3 1/2 hours or so).
